From Senior Designer to Senior Manager in 5 years.
SENIOR MANAGER, PRODUCT DESIGN / 2023 – CURRENT
Leading a team of talented designers, I worked with them to up-level the product experience at Scribd across growth, discovery, core experience, and monetization. I focused my team on growing the reach and impact of design across the company through strategic leadership, design vision, and customer advocacy.
Also, during my tenure as manager, our team experienced the lowest turnover rate across the organization.
MANAGER, PRODUCT DESIGN / 2020 – 2023
Promoted from Staff Designer to Manager, I grew the team from 6 to 12 designers. I focused on helping them grow and up-level their skills, and fostered a culture of collaboration and customer centricity.
STAFF PRODUCT DESIGNER / 2020 – 2021
I was promoted to Staff Product Designer to lead design on the Subscriber Experience team and define the vision and strategy for early subscribers. During my time on the team, I optimized the discovery experience to make evaluation easier, which increased engagement by 12%, created a vision for new subscribers looking for content, and standardized our design handoff process, improving efficiency and quality overall.
SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER / 2018 – 2020
As the design lead for growth at Scribd, I worked closely with my cross-functional team to iterate on new features and improvements across the web. Most notably, I streamlined our sign up flow, increasing accounts created by 12% and trial sign ups by 6% overall. I also led the team in componentizing our designs, creating a fully reusable design system.
Jamberry
SENIOR UI/UX DESIGNER / 2016 – 2018
As the lead designer on the B2C side of the business, I owned the end-to-end process from user research and ideation to testing, visual design, and handoff — making data-backed decisions to improve the experience. Improvements included redesigning the checkout flow to reduce friction, and building a self-sustaining creation tool and marketplace for custom designs.
Markkit
HEAD OF DESIGN + UX / 2014 – 2016
At Markkit, I owned the design and strategy for the end-to-end user experience of the iOS mobile app. I leveraged user testing along with quantitative insights and customer feedback to grow the product. My biggest wins include a full redesign of the app’s navigation, creating a social game that increased our daily active users by 120%, and designing an innovative onboarding experience.
I also led a small team that included an email designer and two social media content creators, defining the creative vision of the brand and directing its execution. I owned brand, email, social, and marketing creative, from initial concept to final production.
